Joe - Summer Photos (June)

"Afternoon Delight" - This is one of the first shots I've ever taken "studio" style where I had an image in my head and tried to create it. I just used some available side light from a window and it turned out pretty close to what I envisioned. I shot it on film again and it's a little overexposed in the highlight areas but I'm still happy with the overall result.

"Good To The Last Drop" - I hastily set this shot up and I wasn't real happy with it. The depth of field is way too shallow but I do like the imagery. Shot on 35mm.

"Who Jarted?" - I love this shot of Eric playing Jarts. The color came out good with some warmth from the late afternoon sun and a good candid shot. Shot on 35mm.

I had a couple more shots planned that I didn't get set up but will be looking for them in July. Great theme and one of the most fun, and easiest time to get out and take pictures.

PHIL - Summer(June)

Time to get the mitt out again. Still got the Nolan Ryan glove.

Remember chicken fights? Even better when you pit your children against each other. Like shaking up two bugs in a jar. Sadly, I lost $50 on this match.

Who can go the highest?

Joe - Whether?

I thought I'd help kick off the blog by reposting my "Weather" photos.

The first is a rapidly moving storm front in the Colorado Rockies along I-70 that Michelle and I stopped to shoot at a turnoff. The storms move in extremely fast in the mountains and it's really exciting to watch. We got to view several snow storms in Rocky Mountain National park, unfortunately my pictures were really over exposed. This was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel G 35mm camera with a 35-80mm lens.

My second shot is on top of Flagstaff Summit in Boulder, CO. I got this great seasonal transition shot of some wildflowers blooming and some lingering snow. This was taken with my Canon Powershot A570IS compact digital.

My third picture is a perspective shot of more snow alongside the bathrooms. Proof that good subject matter can be found in traditionally unbecoming places!! Taken again with my Canon EOS 35mm.
